Holy Island Harbour.
The small harbour at Holy Island is used mainly
by pleasure craft and a few local fishing boats.
It has a facility for removing boats from the water
for maintenance by means of a ramp and tracks up which the boats
are hauled.
In the 19th century Lime was exported from a jetty
by the castle. It was brought to the lime kilns beside the castle
from the north end of the island by a small wagonway, the trackbed
of which still exists. After being burnt in the kilns it was then
taken to the jetty on another wagonway.
