I've learned the Pierce surname is connected with the area. I hope

Dear Les,
Thank you for the marvellous photos. It's easy for us ex-pats to
forget how green it is in Northumberland in January when it's -30C
here with deep snow!
Is there any chance you could add Elsdon to your collection: pele
tower, motte and bailey castle, village green, pub, etc?
Cheers!
Les
Bell - Website Owner:
Hi Gerry, thanks for your comments - we had snow here today
too - it lasted about 2 minutes!
Last visit to Elsdon was rained off just as we arrived - only
managed one photo - this page is not openly published on site
but hopefully will be soon with more photos:

What wonderful pictures. I moved to Northumberland in May 2004
and it feels like a holiday every day I wake up. Great walks along
the local beaches, my favourite walk is from Sugar Sands through
Boulmer, round Seaton Point and Foxton Bay to Alnmouth (only when
the tide is out!)

Hi,
Lovely site, my only wish is that you had some pictures from up
the River Blyth. Say Bedlington, where I was born 72 years ago.
Been in Canada for over 50 years now, But Bedlington and the Blyth
valley are where my heart is.
But,with 7 Canadian children and 12 equally Canadian grandchildren
it's not too likely that I can relocate any time soon! I do miss
the places where I grew up though. Maybe you could widen your boundaries,
and show us some of Bedlington and the upper River Blyth.
Again, thanks a lot for a most welcome break from the grey skies
and snow of an Ontario winter.
Regards, Joe Rooney

You brought back many a happy day spent at bothal swimming in the
river. I was born in Cambois and lived in Guidepost till my late
teens. I still call it home even after living away since 1986.
Thanks again your work is just great.

I loved going to England over the summer. I went
to England and Scotland with my family. I'm 13 and I just went this
summer and I already miss it. I want to go back really bad. I hope
someday I can.
Sara:
My grandmothergrew up there and when we went to go see her house

I aspire to take photos as good as yours. We trod
the same ground around Druridge! I take my dog there all the time.
Thanks for making me try even harder to get brilliant pics.

Thank you for the wonderful pictures of Bothal,
the place where I was born. My maiden name was Thompson and we lived
in the house next to the graveyard, though the house been considerably
changed now. It was called Glebe Cottage then and is now School
House (I think. I visit every year, after all it is God's county!
