Winters Gibbet, near Elsdon, Northumberland.Winters Gibbet is located high up on moorland at the side of the road from Elsdon to Morpeth. William Winter was hanged in Newcastle for the murder of Margaret Crozier in 1791. His body was brought here and hung up until it rotted away.
