Photos of Ros Castle and Hepburn.

These photos were taken at Ros Castle, Hepburn on a fine afternoon in November 2003.

Ros Castle is not a castle as such but was a camp as a plaque at the top of the hill describes.

The viewpoint from the top of the hill is one of the finest in Northumberland but may soon be blighted by an ugly and monstrous wind farm near North Charlton.

The photos may take a while to load depending on your connection speed.

The views from here are spectacular in all directions.
You really do need to go and see them for yourself on a fine, clear day.

Looking North East from Ros Castle, Bamburgh Castle can clearly be seen although
it is 7 miles away.

Although not visible in this photo the Farne Island can also be seen from here.
